A Huge Thank You from SHARP

A few weeks have passed since the season now and the team have had a chance to rest. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended SHARP this season, be you team or volunteers, taking part in courses or our day experiences, or perhaps just for a visit. SHARP cannot function without everyone that makes it what it is.
We would like to give another huge thank you to all the donations towards SHARP this year. Each year we have a few substantial donations, and this year we also ran our crowdfunding campaign to help with our sustainability project (and there will be a further update on this to follow), and several smaller donations throughout the season. Every donation no matter the size given all adds up, and this year we have been incredibly humbled by the support we have received.
We are happy to announce that the festival, despite the very poor weather raised over £700 for the charity. This year we didn’t charge for car parking so this was a combination of donations, and our various stalls including the raffle and tombola. We are very grateful to all the local organisations and individuals that donated prizes for our raffle and tombola.
SHARP would also like to thank the various team members, who have given so many hours of their time, both during and out of season, to help SHARP. By giving their time for free we are able to keep costs down as an organisation and provide affordable archaeology for all. On top of this we need to thank those team members who donated money on top of this to cover their expenses, and beyond.
How can you donate or help SHARP
We have tried to provide many options as possible, all explained on our donations page which you can find here.
If you have donated and are a UK taxpayer please consider gift aiding your donation. For every £1 we receive 25p from the UK government, which means a donation of £10 would give SHARP an extra £2.50. All you have to do is fill in the Gift Aid form which can be found on our
on the website. There is a form for a single one-off donation, and one for multiple donations which means we can claim every time you donate! The money earned by gift aid directly goes towards our bursaries, and last year allowed us to provide three bursaries for courses.
Easy Fundraising is another way to help SHARP raise money, and it happens while you shop. All you need is to sign up for an account with them, choose SHARP as the donation option, and then enter online shops via the app (or have the plugin on your browser for non-intrusive reminders when you visit a shop).
