About the event
The tragic loss of Neil Faulkner on 4th February was a huge loss to his family, friends, and colleagues. Neil’s ties to Sedgeford go back over 25 years, from when he founded SHARP and spent the following years excavating and researching within the parish; creating a fascinating story which spans almost five thousand years.
In addition to SHARP, Neil was also pivotal in numerous other projects including the Great Arab Revolt Project (GARP), various modern conflict archaeology projects in Italy and England and the Archaeology of Cinema Project. Besides his many research fields, he was editor of Current Archaeology and later, Military History Matters and also co-editor of Archaeology Worldwide magazine. He also published numerous books on archaeology, history, and politics.
Neil was not only a steadfast source of creativity, energy, and experience for all his many fields of work but also an inspiration and mentor to so many who…
